Doug Clay was elected chief executive officer of the General Council of the Assemblies of God at the 57th General Council in August 2017. As general superintendent of the Assemblies of God, USA, part of the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world, he is a member of the denomination’s Executive Leadership Team and Executive Presbytery. The church has more than 13 thousand congregations in the United States with over three million adherents. The US Assemblies of God is part of a larger World Assemblies of God Fellowship with a membership of over 68 million.
Prior to his present position, Clay served the church as its general treasurer for nine years. He was superintendent of the Ohio District from 2004–2008, and pastored Calvary Assembly of God in Toledo, Ohio from 1997–2004. Clay has also served as the Assemblies of God national youth director, Ohio District youth director, and as a youth pastor in Ohio and Iowa. He is a 1985 graduate of Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.
He and his wife, Gail, have two grown daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
National Youth Director // Assemblies of God Youth Ministries // Springfield, MO
Josh and Jennifer Wellborn have come back to their hometown of Springfield, Missouri to serve in the Assemblies of God Youth Ministries after 17 years in full-time ministry. Josh attended Evangel University and Jennifer, Missouri State University.
After pursuing a career in broadcasting, Josh became a youth pastor in 2001 and has served in Brussels, Belgium; Seattle, Washington; and Michigan. Their youth ministry at Mount Hope Church in Lansing, Michigan was nationally ranked in the Top 10 for Speed the Light giving.
In 2015, Josh was appointed as the Michigan District Student Ministries Director, where he oversaw both youth and children’s ministries. Then, in January 2018, he was appointed National Director of Assemblies of God Youth Ministries. Josh and Jennifer live in Ozark, Missouri with their four children—Isaac, Symon, Liza, and Stella.
Speed the Light Director // Assemblies of God Youth Ministries // Springfield, MO
Eric Hoffman was appointed to serve as director for Speed the Light in January 2018.
In the three years Hoffman served as district youth director (DYD) for Illinois, giving to Speed the Light increased by more than $300,000. Prior to serving as DYD, he was youth pastor at Abundant Life in Alton, Illinois — one of the Top 20 Giving Churches for Speed the Light during his tenure.

Director of Student Discipleship & Resource Development // Assemblies of God Youth Ministries // Springfield, MO
Darin’s mission is to impact students and leaders by living a relevant life of faith while inspiring, instructing, and including them in ministry so they can reach their full potential in Christ.
Darin was called to preach to students at the age of 16 at a Southern California youth camp. He attended Evangel University and became a youth pastor after graduating in 1988. In that role, Darin became involved in a variety of district events which led to being asked to serve as the district youth director of Southern Missouri Youth Ministries in 1996.
In August 2018, Darin was appointed Director of Student Discipleship and Resource Development for Assemblies of God Youth Ministries.
Darin has a heart to reach the world through the students and leaders he is able to influence. He believes we can equip and enhance youth ministry in the local church by providing relevant, life-changing events and programs for students, as well as quality training and equipping of youth leaders.
Darin and his wife, Heather, have been married for 29 years and reside in Springfield, Missouri. They have two married children: Megan, 24, is married to Nick Bearden, and Gavin, 21, is married to Cassidy.
